Performance

The Chevrolet Malibu is powered by a 1.5L Turbo 4-cylinder engine. This engine is paired with a continuous variable transmission to produce 163 horsepower at 5700 rpm and 184 lb.-ft. of torque at 2500 to 3000 rpm.

Interior

The Chevy Malibu has 5-passenger seating across two front bucket seats and a rear bench seat. The front seats have 6-way manual controls, and on the 2LT trim, they come with heat and ventilation settings. The back seat is a 60/40 split that you can reconfigure when more cargo room is needed.

A wide range of cabin features add to the luxury of the Malibu’s cabin, such as the carpeted floor mats and 6-speaker audio system. The 2025 Malibu comes with wireless smartphone integration on the 8-inch Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system. The Malibu 2LT trim comes with an 8-inch Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system that comes with cloud-connected personalization and GPS navigation. This system comes with a free 3-month trial subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio for hundreds of sports, music, and news stations.

Safety

There’s no shortage of safety in the new Chevrolet Malibu, with advanced packages like OnStar Basics, Chevy Safety Assist, and the Driver Confidence Package. OnStar Basics comes with Automatic Crash Response, live traffic updates, remote commands, and built-in voice assistance. Chevy Safety Assist features Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Alert, while the Driver Confidence Package includes Rear Park Assist.

Other safety features in the Chevy Malibu include StabiliTrak electronic stability control and Teen Driver. StabiliTrak prevents your car from rolling over at high speeds by adjusting your engine torque and brakes during rapid maneuvers.
